Painting is perhaps the most personal medium of my practice. When I paint, I do so for myself. I sit with a subject for months, devoting my time to seeing and analyzing the image before me. Each stroke is calculated and deliberate. So much of my art practice is fast-paced and instantaneous, but when I’m painting, I slow down and take the time to really see.
